The Southwest Youth Symphony was founded in 1996. The Southwest Youth Symphony offers young talented musicians an opportunity to join their peers for a year of intensive orchestra training and exciting musical performances.

TSYS supports our public and private school's music programs. Therefore, it is expected that each student that auditions for membership in The Southwest Youth Symphony must be a member in good standing of his or her local school orchestra. The only exception would be where the applicant's school is unable to make this participation opportunity available.

The Southwest Youth Symphony held auditions last weekend for the 2010 -2011 season. Auditions were held at Carson Junior High School. All students from elementary, middle school and high school were invited to audition.
